Orchard Harvest goes Online, Content Lock feature prevents editing conflicts - This week in Orchard (21/08/2026)

Worried about a licensing surprise breaking your CI builds, or being forced to buy a license just to build Orchard Core from source? That's exactly the risk ImageSharp v4's new license enforcement created, so Orchard Core replaced it with NetVips as the default image engine, which is faster too.

YesSql 6.0 has been released, and Orchard Core has been updated to pick up the latest provider and API improvements. The major version brought a few breaking API changes, so this also adapts the affected source.

Need to stop two editors from overwriting each other's changes? A new Content Lock feature locks a content item while someone else is editing it.

Important update about Orchard Harvest! Due to various factors, we had to make the difficult decision to move the event online.

This week's changes come from Jasmin Savard, Sébastien Ros, Zoltán Lehóczky, and Hisham Bin Ateya.

Never Let Your SSL Expire Again, Convert Alerts to Dismissible Toasts - This week in Orchard (10/07/2026)

Does your admin UI tell you when an SSL certificate is about to expire?

Does your deployment pipeline carry Security settings between environments, or does someone have to reconfigure them by hand?

After this week's post, the answer to both is yes!

This issue covers: SSL Check (color-coded expiration warnings on the Tenants page), Security settings import/export via deployment plans, and notification alerts converted to dismissible toasts.

Plus an interview with Antoine Griffard, one of Orchard's longest-running contributors!
